Govt urged to mitigate problems of labourers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Nov 18: All the industrial labourers Associations today convened a joint press conference to urge the state government to mitigate various critical problems of the labourer. The president of Chenab Textile Industrial Worker Union Roop Lal said that the conditions of labourers, particularly of industrial and in general of common in unorganized sector was critical and were exploited by their employers and against their hard work getting nothing in return. The president of Chenab Textile Mill Mazdoor Union Asfaq Ahamad, president Chenab Textile Mill Workers Association Uttam Chand, the vice president of a NGO named SOIL (Saviour Of Innocent Labour) Ram Pal Sharma, president of Chenab Textile Mill Worker Union Ramesh Singh and the president of Bharat Small Arms Union Rattan Chand appealed the government to solve the provident fund related problems of the labourers. They demanded that to increase the C.P.F rate of interest and make it at present the central department is giving which is @ of 9.5% while the state Govt. if providing @8% which is great disparity and injustice with the labour. They further demanded that the state should implement the worker pension scheme while in other states it has already been implemented since 1995.
