| Attendants continue to suffer at Kathua dist hospital | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Nov 18:THE attendants of the patients continue to face problems in the district hospital, Kathua. Many attendants resented over the harassment and difficults confronting them in absence lodging and community kitchen.
It is pertinent mentioning here that lodging and community kitchen in the hospital was inaugurated on July 29 this year previous District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Sanjeev Verma while the foundation stone for this lodging cum community kitchen building had already been laid by then Minister of PWD Gulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah since 1997.
Ironically both lodging and community are non-functional, though DC had directed to the hospital administration to make both functional at the earliest . Even the Indian Oil Corporation had donated the four numbers of domestic gas cylinders with equal quantity of burners.
Though the chairman of Cooperative Society of Kathua and president of Industries Association kathua Ajit Bawa had also promised of donating Rs 1 lac to make the functioning of kitchen but even after a lapse of four months, no donation has come from his side, thus making the attendants of the patients in kathua hospital suffer.
The state Secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee Manohar Singh, and district general secretary of PCC kathua Bhupinder Singh (Pinku) said if the infrastructure of lodging and kitchen has been available with the District hospital to facilitate the attendants of the patients then why the administration was shrieking away from the responsibility .
