Jammu, Nov 18: Tempers ran high at Qasim Nagar, Narwal, here today after the residents came to know that a locality youth had shown disrespect to the idols of god in a Shiva temple.
Police sources identified the accused as Ranjit of Qasim Nagar. He allegedly forced his entry into a Shiva temple at Qasim Nagar late last night and showed "disrespect" to the idols of god, the sources added.
After the matter came to their notice, the locals, led by locality president Bimal Dass, lodged a report with the Bagh-e-Bahu police station in this regard. Police had registered a case against the accused, who was evading arrest.
Tempers, however, ran high when some Bajrang Dal activists reached there this afternoon and expressed their anguish over the incident.
