Penalty of Rs 5,000 each imposed on five pvt schools

Jammu, Nov 18: A penalty of Rs 5,000 each was today imposed by chief education officer (CEO), Jammu, on five private schools. Reason: They were open on the eve of Eid in violation of a government order.
The institutes included Anuradha Public School, Muthi, GS High School, Muthi, Vimal High School, Bakshi Nagar, Jack-n-Jill High School, Bakshi Nagar, and Shanti Swaroop School, Sarwal.
Following public complaints that these were open in violation of the government order of a holiday on eid, CEO Natha Ram raided the schools and imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 each on them.
Their managements were warned of derecognition of schools if such a mistake was repeated in future, official sources said.
When contacted, the CEO said five schools were raided as these were open on eid in violation of government orders.
