| Jitender Singh elected RSSDI president | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 19: Dr Jitendra Singh, nationally known Jammu-based Diabetologist and author polled nearly 65 percent of the total votes cast to register a huge popular victory in a keen multicornered contest for election to the prestigious National Executive of the RSSDI {Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India},the largest body of Diabetologists in India. The election was held through secret postal ballot and the results were declared today at the annual meeting of RSSDI at Kochi. Hailing Dr Jitendra Singh’s decisive victory, RSSDI members described it as an evidence of the goodwill enjoyed by Dr Singh across the country mainly because of his unassuming professional approach and his positive attitude towards colleagues and other members of fraternity. Pertinent to mention here that Dr Singh is already an office-bearer of several other prestigious Diabetes related committees and bodies. He is also national executive member of “DiabetesIndia” headquartered at Mumbai , All–India Joint Secretary of “DIPSI”{Diabetes in Pregnancy Study in India}headquartered at Chennai and National Diabetes Research Grant Committee member headquartered at Delhi. Other important results of RSSDI election announced at Kochi today included that of Dr Shashank Joshi renowned Mumbai-based Diabetologist and former editor of “Journal of Association of Physicians of India”{JAPI} who was declared elected as new President of RSSDI . Dr V. Mohan, famous Diabetologist from Chennai and Dr Samar Banerjee,senior professor from Kolkata were elected vice presidents while Dr S.V.Madhu, senior Diabetologist from Delhi will continue as secretary RSSDI by unanimous choice.
