JK Bank’s currency note exchange facility | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 19: On the eve of Eid-ul-Azha, Jammu and Kashmir Bank provided currency note exchange facility to general public in Jammu in which fresh currency notes of Rs.5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 denominations were exchanged against old currency notes. Even availability of coins of Rs.5 and 10 denominations were also provided through these counters. Bank’s zonal office had established four mobile cash counters at Eid-gah Residency Road, Bathandi Masjid, Ustad Mohalla and Masjid Kharika Talab. These places experience huge footfall during the Eid festival in Jammu. Currency amounting to Rs. 30 lakhs was exchanged at these counters. Meanwhile, Fresh currency notes of all denominations were available at the business units/ counters across the Kashmir zones as well. Zonal Head, Jammu (Central) Madan Gupta supervised functioning of these mobile cash counters and ensured that the public gets the note exchange facility in a hassle free manner. Meanwhile, under its ‘clean currency, clean commerce’ initiative to make J&K state a clean currency state, J&K Bank has once again exhorted general public not to accept soiled or non-issuable notes from any of its branches. People in general have hailed initiative of bank in which they provided fresh notes in exchange of old currency notes.
