Rs. one crore Multipurpose Hall at GGM Science College inaugurated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOV 19- In order to provide infrastructural facilities to the students of GGM Science College, Jammu, the Minister for Higher Education, Labour & Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik alongwith Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mr. Ashok Khajuria inaugurated Multipurpose Hall in the premises of Government Gandhi Memorial Science college today.
The Multipurpose hall has been spread over an area of about 7000 sft and constructed at cost of Rs. over one crore by the Jammu & Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC).
Speaking on the occasion, Malik appreciated the college authorities and JKPCC for completing the construction work of this multipurpose hall with in stipulated time frame. He said that presently the need of the hour is to strengthen the basic infrastructural facilities at all colleges of the state adding that adequate funds are also being made available in addition of to normal grants by the higher education department for creating more required infrastructural facilities. MLA, Ashok Khajuria speaking on the occasion said that GGM Science College is the first ever college of Jammu region which was reported 106 years ago needs special attention with regard to more infrastructural facilities. He assured for two class rooms and Mast light out of his CDF
Director Colleges, Prof. Dr. Sham Lal Gupta and Principal of GGM Science College, Prof. Dr. M.S. Baloria also spoke on the occasion and demanded adequate funds for more infrastructural facilities for this college. Director Colleges said that about Rs. 40 crores have been provided to various colleges for infrastructal facilities which include hostel facilities also. Dr. Baloria apprised the Minister that internet facilities are also being made available to the college students in addition to library facilities within the college premises.
