| Football: Vijay Club, Young Rovers in super league | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 19: Vijay Club and Young Rovers today qualified for the super league round in senior division group in the Football League Tournament underway at GGM Science College ground, here.
Earlier, in today’s last league tie, Vijay Club held Young Rovers to a goalless draw to top group-D with seven points out of two wins and a draw. On the other hand, Young Rovers secured four points earned from one win, a draw and a loss.
In all, six teams shall qualify for the super league round from three different groups.
Meanwhile, in junior division league, Young Churchill-A and Cantt Star won their respective matches played at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
In first first match, Young Churchill defeated Nav Bharat 4-1. Omar (13th), Aprajit (15th) and Gautam (45th and 47th) scored for the winners Young Churchill while Rohit (23rd) reduced the margin from Nav Bharat.
Cantt Star won the other match after they blanked St. Alexander Club 3-0. Vijay Rajpur (8th) and Abhishek (68th) scored one goal each. Third goal was a self goal when Muzamil mistakenly kicked the ball in his own goal in the 66th minute.
In another scheduled match of Junior Division, Young Sports got walkover New Dogra.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sanjay Kumar, Vishav, Vivek, Fiestus Sotra, Peter Sandhu, Yusuf Don and Richi Rozar.
