| Congress demands block status to Khari, Sub-District to Banihal | | |
BANIHAL NOV-03- THE Congress party at its meeting held at Khari Arpinchla in Banihal presided over by the party leader Sajjad Shaheen has demanded grant of Block status to Khari, tehsil status to Ramsoo and sub-district status for Banihal.
The party also demanded opening up of a Degree College at Banihal and PHC at Khari, filling up the vacant posts in High School Khari and provision of drinking water and electricity facilities in areas like Sarachi, Buzla, Kawna, Mangit Mohu and other far off areas of Banihal.
Appreciating Chief Minister for his innovative planning for speedy development of the state, Shaheen asked the party activists to strengthen the hands of Ghulam Nabi Azad and the Congress party. He said the Congress party is committed for the equitable development of all the areas and regions of the State.
He also demanded construction of Mini Hydel Projects and Nachlana Khari and Pogal Gool under the Prime Minister’s reconstruction plan, besides granting 50 per cent subsidy on all inputs for Rabi crops in Banihal Tehsil as the Kharif crop in the area got damaged due to excessive rains, hail storm and paddy blast.
Among others who attended the meeting were Mohammed Afzal Wani, G N Khan, Gul Mohammed Mir,Abdul Jabbar Hajam ,Sajad Bhat, Jamat Ali, A G Naik, Mohammed Yaseen, Peer Jalal-ud- Din Makdoomi, Ghulam Mohammed Hajam and Abdul Gani.
