24 undergo cataract surgery in medical camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 20: Twenty four people underwent cataract surgery in a free medical camp held at sub-district hospital (SDH), Sohanjana, in Nikki Tawi area here today. The camp was organised by Tawi Welfare Society (TWS) in collaboration with health department and SDH Sohanjana at Apna Van in Soorechak village. A total of 250 patients were medically examined and provided free medicines on the occasion. Of them, 24 underwent cataract surgery, SDH general secretary R C Gupta said. He said this was the 22nd 'free eye cataract surgery camp' at Apna Van. The patients and other needy people were also given free ration on the occasion. The free medicines were provided by chief medical officer (CMO), Dr Baldev Raj Sharma and block medical officer (BMO), Dr Saifudin Khan. Dr Khan said he and his team of doctors were doing well in the SDH Sohanjana. Even major surgeries were being done there, he added.
