Ministers to stay in Kashmir on rotation during winter | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Nov 20 : Announcing that two to three ministers will always remain in the Kashmir valley during winter months, when the seat of the government functions from Jammu, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said the government gives top priority to address the problems confronting the people. Addressing a high level meeting of Heads of Departments (HoD) of all government offices after arriving here from Jammu yesterday afternoon, Tara said government has decided that two or three Ministers would visit the valley fortnightly to assess and review peace of the works and the problems confronting to the people during the winter months in the valley. The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, M A Kakroo while giving resume of various works taken in hand and the role played by various departments particularly essential services during the past few months for the facility of people. Regarding power, the Deputy Chief Minister was informed that about 17 thousand power transformers have been installed across the valley and 16 transformers have been reported damaged which were replaced within 24 hours. It was also told that Power Development Department (PDD) has 400 transformers in the bank which are used when any transformer gets damaged.
