Unrelenting, BJP challenges Omar to speak on "Accession" from public platform Unfolds strategy to take on CM , UPA govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 20: Adhering to the strategy of what looks like 'provoking' the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah , BJP today dared him challenge to make his utterances on Accession of J&K from a public platform and 'face the consequences'. The party, having decided to clasp the issue close to its political priorities, is all set with renewed schedule of protests against Omar Abdullah and UPA government, the first one to begin from November 27 . Blaming Abdullahs as mother of all evils related to Kashmir problem, the BJP leaders said while it started with Sheikh-Nehru friendship in 1947, the present turmoil is being 'imposed' on people on account of Rahul- Omar friendship. The party which for some time has been making loud cries on Omar's statement in Assembly today gave a clear indication of this having become a party's new strategy to keep the 'pot' boiling for Omar, apparently with an intent to provoke him speak more on the lines and face the consequences. "Omar has stated all this within the confines of Assembly…….we challenge him to say this in
front of the public……..we will not relent till he makes an apology in public or else step down from the Chair of Chief Minister", BJP leaders declared at a party convention on the outskirts of Jammu here today. Unfolding the calendar of protests and demonstrations slated for Omar Abdullah, the party leadership said it will begin from November 27 when complete 'Chakka Jam' will be observed for three hours in the morning in entire Jammu province. "This is to remind the Chief Minister that nationalist people of state won't tolerate posturing or stances of anyone which challenged integration of J&K with India…..we will go to masses and enlighten them what would be consequences of Chief Minister's utterances", the state president said in a forceful manner adding that it will be followed by continuous protest demonstrations at the mandal level from December 1 and continue for a week during which the effigies of both Chief Minister of J&K and that of UPA government would be burnt by the workers of BJP. He also called for cooperation of people to make these programmes successful, asking private vehicle owners in particular to respond to chakka jam call on Nov 27. The convention was also attended by national level leaders Om Prakash Kohli and Dr Raju Sushant, MP who has been made MP incharge for J&K state. He even went on to the extent of blaming Abdullahs and Congress Nehru clan for all trouble emanating from Kashmir, saying it cropped up first as a result of Pandit Nehru-Sheikh Abdullah friendship and attributed the present unrest to Rahul-Omar friendship. " How could Omar muster courage to make anti India utterances while being a part of country…….his voices have been emboldened by Centre which did not deem it proper to counter what he stated leave alone take action against him……… We are not going to backdown on the issue……the party leadership has decided to take this as a serious matter and discuss in Parliament as and when time is granted …….", the BJP MP asserted. Coming down heavily on Center for its 'soft policies' on Kashmir, the BJP leader said it was causing huge demoralization of security forces, which are otherwise competent enough to tacke militancy with an iron hand. Asserting that lakhs of BJP workers and supporters in Jammu would stand like a rock against any move, the BJP leader said Kashmir won't go anywhere as party would continue to intensify struggle against anti national forces, be they be at any level. "Omar's utterances do not matter ……..there is no dispute or doubt that it is an integral part of India", he said. The new MP incharge of the state also chose to call upon the local leadership to be cautious in not categorizing all Muslims of Kashmir as anti nationals. " We know all Kashmiris are not against India nor do they gel well with the idea of independence for Kashmir…..so we should not generalize in making comments or while speaking", he gave a note of caution.
