Leaders differ on panchayat poll participation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 20: In the party workers convention, while the BJP talked about coalition government's intentions on holding Panchayat elections in the state, differences of opinion on participation of party viz-a-viz some aspects related to the poll came to fore with local stalwarts speaking almost in different tone. While party veteran and leader of opposition in Assembly Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said that party should rethink and consider well whether it should contest polls in the backdrop of government's wavering stands as also its reluctance to implement 73rd and 74th amendments of constitution, state president Shamsher Singh Manhas categorically stated that Party must contest elections and start preparations for the same in right earnest. "We should not sit back instead start preparations at all levels", he asserted. |
