Kathua hospital Attendants facing food, space shortage | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 21: District Hospital Kathua may be having world class infrastructure but the fact remains that attendants are facing both food and space shortage. Attendants Rajani Charak, Ramesh Sharma from Basohli, Kanta Devi of Bani, Balbir Singh from Billawar and others resented harassment and difficulties being faced by them. They accused district hospital administration of having miserably failed to provide proper and effective facilities to the attendants. It needs to be emphasized that boarding and lodging facilities in district hospital Kathua were inaugurated recently by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua Sanjeev Verma. On the contrary, foundation stone of community kitchen building was laid by ex-Minister of Public Works Department (PWD) Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah in the year 1997. On the inaugural day, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) had donated four domestic gas cylinders to the hospital but the kitchen is yet to be made functional. He said that constructed building has the capacity to accommodate more than 15 attendants. An official of District Hospital Kathua said that all the issues would be taken up during the monthly meeting of Kalyan Rogi Samiti (KRS). State secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Manohar Singh, and District General Secretary of PCC Kathua Bhupinder Singh (Pinku) have also pledged to take up the issue with the higher ups and get it resolved at the earliest.
