Coalition committed to hold Panchayat elections: Soz

SRINAGAR, Nov 21: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Prof. Saifuddin Soz today said that coalition is committed to Panchayat elections on time.
Addressing a Congress party rally at Hanjan in Homshalibug area of District Kulgam Prof. Saifuddin Soz declared that Congress Party is an effective instrument of service to the people. He urged leaders accompanying him to help people of Homshalibug, who are economically backward, and earn their goodwill.
Soz reemphasized that the coalition government was eager to hold Panchayat elections as soon as possible. In this connection, he said that the coalition’s coordination committee will meet soon to decide about the Panchayat Elections. Prof. Soz also clarified his statement misquoted in a section of the press today and said that he had merely said that since he had no knowledge of the subject, he could neither say Naxalites were connected with Militants nor that they were not connected.
He had categorically stated that he (Prof. Soz) had no knowledge on the subject. He said that he (Prof. Soz) had also told the media persons that clarification if needed could be provided by the Chief Minister who had better knowledge on the subject. Prof. Soz accepted the demands of the people and assured them that he would see to it that hospital is provided at Numai while Hospital at Yaripora will be operationalised fully.
He (Prof. Soz) also sanctioned Rs. 10 Lakh from his MP LAD fund for Development of Homshalibug. Those who accompanied Prof. Soz and spoke in the rally included Ghulam Nabi Monga, Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Abdul Majid Paddar, Indu Pawar Mahila, G. N. Mir Lasjan, Anayatullah Rather, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Peer Nazir Ahmad, Master Mohd Maqbool, Shameema Raina, Jawahira Bano and Shameema Sopori.
