Deshbandhu’s extension demanded
11/21/2010 9:40:15 PM
EARLY TIMES
Jammu, Nov 21: Jammu & Kashmir Human Rights Watch (JKHRW) has demanded extension of term of incumbent chairman Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), Prof Deshbandhu Gupta.
In a press statement issued here, B L Kapoor, state chairman JKHRW has appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene into the matter.
“The officers having completion of their tenure have been extended the deputation period on the post, which is not objectionable, but appreciable. On the other hand, it is shock and unfortunate for the people of Jammu division that the extension has not been given to the Chairman BOSE who had shown commendable performance, brought many innovative changes in BOSE functioning during his tenure and deserves for extension in the interest of the people of Jammu division,” Kapoor said.
