| Savita Bakshi honoured | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 21: Divya Channel on Sunday honored Savita Bakshi here at Jhiri, Jammu for her ‘tremendous and outstanding’ contribution in the field of Culture.
Savita Bakshi is a renowned satirist and prominent Cultural activist of Jammu and Kashmir State. She secured distinction in M.A. Music from Punjab University, Chandigarh in the year 1977.
She joined Institute of Music and Fine Arts as Instructor Sitar in the year 1978 after rendering excellent service in teaching she became Dean and Principal of IMFA in the year 2003 and Additional Secretary of pioneering Institute J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Besides she also performed in the “International Festival” The Instruments Sounds of Eurasia at Ulam- Ude, Russia.
She also given Solo performance and conducted workshop of Music at United Kingdom .She has also been honored with the award of “Guru Saman” and “Sangeet Surbhi” by the Literary and Cultural organisation of the State.
