| Silver jubilee year of convent school begins | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: Inaugural function of the silver jubilee year of the diocese of Jammu- Srinagar was celebrated at Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School Grounds (PCHSSG) Gandhi Nagar.
Celebrations began with solemn eucharistic celebration presided over by Retired Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine Ofm Cap., Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar diocese. Year long celebration will be rallying around the theme “Remembering Gratefully and Celebrating Joyfully.”
Prior to that Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine Ofm Captain hoisted Silver Jubilee Year Flag at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Gandhi Nagar. It was followed by procession in honour of ‘Christ the King’ whose sole purpose was to enlighten human race in the Way of God and thus affect their redemption. Procession began from St. Mary’s Cathedral and proceeded to Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School grounds, Gandhi Nagar.
Faithful earnestly prayed to the Lord Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to instill peace and progress into the state of Jammu and Kashmir. During the thanksgiving eucharistic celebration, Bishop Peter recalled tireless work and wholehearted sacrifices done by innumerable priests, religious men and women, catechist, benefactors, christian community and people of j&k in the field of evangelization, education and social works .
