NMC leader for spl package of Rs 5000cr to J&K

JAMMU Nov 21: President of the National Mazdoor Conference Subash Shastri, today appealed the Union Finance Minister to provide special financial package of Rs 5000 crore to Jammu & Kashmir for fully funding expenditures for implementation of 6th Pay Commission recommendations in favour of state government employees and pensioners.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Rani Park, Shastri pleaded for liberal funding to J&K so that besides providing all benefits of the 6th Pay Commission to the state government employees and pensioners as well as payment of arrears on account of pay revision. He added the centre should immediately come to rescue J&K and announce a special package while finalising the state annual plan for 2011-12. He said a lump-sum amount of Rs 5000 crore be provided exclusively for the purpose.
Shastri appreciated the Chief Minister and his all cabinet colleagues for timely implementation of the 6th Pay Commission, release of 6, 5 & 8% pending DA Installments due from January, July last & January this year, enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs. 70 to Rs. 110 per day.
Shastri has also appealed the Chief minister, Omar Abdullah to release the pending installment of 10% D. A due from January this year .
Pleading the cause of daily rated workers, casual labourers, adhoc, consolidated and contractual employees, Shastri emphasized for their time bound regularization.
Several resolutions were adopted at the rally which included release of wages of Motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization, declaration of Jammu & Srinagar Cities as B-1 Cities, issuance of orders of 180 daily wagers working in Rural Development Department, Conversion of COLA into DA of PSU employees, timely release of wages of Daily wagers working in the various govt. Departments, continue of services of daily wager casual labour of PWD, R&B Division 1, adjusting on vacant post of seasonal labour working in Irrigation division Akhnoor & Division No.2, release of 5 year wages of workers of Trikuta Hills project of Social Forestry Department & Issuance of regularisation orders of sericulture Department casual labour.
