First batch of Haj pilgrims returns | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Nov 21- First batch of Haj Pilgrims from the State reached Srinagar today after performing the Haj. The Hajis were received at the Srinagar International Airport by Minister for Rural Development Panchayats, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo and Minister of State for Haj and Auqaf, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon, IPG Kashmir, S. M. Sahai, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Director Srinagar Airport, Capt. Raj Malik and other senior officers were also present at the Airport. A total of 6887 Hajis from the state performed Haj pilgrimage this year. They will be returning in 27 flights upto December 22, 2010. State Government and State Haj Committee have made adequate arrangements for the pilgrims at the Srinagar International Airport which include immigration and custom clearance, foreign exchange facility etc. At Srinagar International Airport, the Airport Authority of India have also made arrangements like heating, hot water, drinking water (RO) in the arrival hall for the Haj pilgrims besides additional car parking space for their attendants.
