| Jammu dominates in inter-division meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 22: Jammu Division completely dominated the opening round of the Inter-Division (boys) Tournament beating Kashmir Division in all the three events of hockey, handball and kho-kho at different venues, here today. The competition, being held on best of three basis between two teams representing Jammu and Kashmir Divisions, is organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS). HOCKEY: In under-14 hockey match, played at KK Hakhu Stadium, here, Jammu trounced Kashmir by two goals to one. Taking first lead Jammu scored in the 20th minute through Sunil Kumar. However, Kashmir equalized the lead in the 27th minute when Rupinder Singh sounded the board. Three minutes later, Ramandeep Singh netted the ball for second goal for Jammu in the 30th minute to make it a 2-1 win. HANDBALL: In under-17 boys’ handball, Jammu registered a comfortable 21-14 win over their counterparts from Kashmir in a match played at Mini Stadium, Parade. Pankaj and Yogesh were main scorers from Jammu with five and six goals in their respective accounts. From Kashmir, Mudasir Bashir and Malik Ishfaq contributed four and three goals respectively. KHO-KHO: The boys’ under-19 kho-kho match was also won by Jammu Division outplaying Kashmir by a margin of one point with final score being 4-3.
