| CEO notifies Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 22: The Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Jammu has issued the schedule of Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls.
As per the schedule, the date for draft publication of electoral rolls is November 30, the period for filing of claims and objections is from November 30 to December 16, reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabha/ Local Bodies and RWA meetings etc and verification of names is December 8 and 9, 2010. The special campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving claims and objection is from December 11 to 13, 2010, the date for disposal of claims and objections is December 26, the date for updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list is from December 26, 2010 to January 3, 2011 and the date for final publication of electoral rolls is January 5, 2011.
Form No. 6, 7, 8, 8-A are available in the office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer ( Tehsildars of Jammu district/ Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal corporation.
The persons who have attained the age of 18 years as on 01-01-2011 and are permanent resident of J&K can apply to the concerned AEROs on prescribed forms for inclusion, deletion and correction of names in the electoral rolls upto December 16, 2010.
Citizens and all political parties have been informed to ensure their active participation in the Special Summary Revision programme so that the Photo Electoral Rolls are updated and maximum accuracy is ensured.
