JAMMU NOV 22: The Department of Sociology organized its 2nd alumini meet at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
Prof. Varun Sahni, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his address, he congratulated the Department for organizing such an event which he said reflected the strength and growth of the Department. He appreciated the efforts of the present Head, faculty and staff members, the previous Head Prof. J.R. Panda, the students and the Alumni.
The programme began with Saraswati Vandana and the lightening of the lamp by the dignitaries which included Prof. R.D. Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Dr. P.S. Pathania, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Prof. G.M. Bhatt, Controller of Examinations, Prof. Kuldeep Sharma, Director, IQAC and Dr. D.L. Choudhary, Administrator, GZSA. All the Alumni batches from 2001-2010 were introduced on the statge.
The welcome address was given by Prof. Abha Chauhan, Head, Department of Sociology and Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Sapna Sharma, Assistant Professor of the Department. The programme was conducted by Ranjeet Sharma, Department Representative and Juhie Mohan and Shreeya Bakshi, M.Phil Scholars of the Department.
