| Problems of far flung students discussed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 22: The activists of Sangarsh- today met with Director Distance Education (DDE), University of Jammu, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam under the leadership of general secretary of the movement Suresh Kumar and discussed with her the problems being faced by the students of the far flung areas of Jammu region. During the interaction the activists apprised Dr. Kilam with various demands concerning to students and wanted her immediate response over it. They demanded additional cash counters for the students of distance education. Provision of On-line admission, so that one may not have to travel from Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch just to purchase and to submit the admission forms. They also demanded facility of clock room and wash room for the students of DDE. In a statement issued by the student body, Suresh Sharma has said that Dr. Kilam gave a patient hearing over the issues raised by the movement and assured that the same will be implemented as early as possible and infact since from her appointment here as a Director, she has engaged herself in making all the comfort to the students. The movement also appreciated Dr. Kilam for infrastructural development in the DDE premises and extended her full support in development of projects which will be initiated for the students. |
