| After losing mother, STF HC plans to shift to safer place | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 22: After losing his mother in the militant attack on his house Sunday night, STF Headconstable Qasim Din plans to shift his family to Kishtwar town. "I am seriously thinking of shifting my family to Kishtwar to ensure their safety," he said today. There is no guarantee that militants will not return to harm my family. They have already taken revenge and I cannot afford to take another chance," he added. His mother Gujra Begum was last night killed in the militant attack. After performing the last rites of Gujra in the remote Keshwan village of Kishtwar Monday evening, Qasim told local reporters that alertness on the part of his brother and wife helped in saving the lives of his children and other family members. He said when militants last night attacked his house at Anjoli, he was not inside. "I was on duty, 8 kms away, at a security picket in thick forests," he added. Qasim Din had Friday eliminated a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant Shafi Gujjar in a fierce gun fight with the group of militants in the same area. "Only my wife Shamina Akhter, an elder brother and my two sons were present in the house," he informed. He said militants had killed his mother to revenge the killing of Shafi Gujjar. "When militants killed my mother, my wife and children jumped to safety and survived with minor bruises," he added. SSP, Kishtwar, Hasseb Mughal said a massive manhunt had been launched to track down the militants. |
