1 killed, 7 hurt in road mishaps

Srinagar, Nov 23: One person was killed and seven others, including two sisters, injured in different road accidents across the valley since last night.
A tractor (JK05/8864), driven by Mohammad Ashraf Tantray, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Gund Braght, Sopore, hit motorcyclist Zahoor Ahmed Shah (27), son of Ghulam Mohammad of Model Town, Sopore, at Link road Gund Braght, resulting in his instant death.
After completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to his family for last rites. Police had registered a case in this regard.A Tata sumo (JK01L/2060) hit and wounded Shahnaza and Sumi Jan, daughters of Gulzar Ahmad Bhat of Frimo Gadol, Kokernag, at Wangam.
The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. A Tata sumo (JK05A/9293), driven by Hilal Ahmad, son of Ghulam Qadir of Kupwara, met with an accident on Semthan National Highway, resulting in injuries to five persons including the driver. All of
them were admitted to hospital.
