PUC decides to skip audit paras up to 2000-2001 | | | EARLY TIM,ES REPORT Jammu Nov 23: Emphasizing on early disposal of audit paras, pertaining to the various departments from 2001 to 2009, Chairman Public Undertaking Committee,(PUC) Chaudhary Mohammad Aslam asked Secretary Legislative Assembly to take up the matter with the concerned administrative departments and ensure that action taken reports are submitted to the Committee for examination well in time. The Chairman was presiding over a meeting of PUC here today. Among others who attended the meet included legislators, Hakim Mohammad Yaseen, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, Pir Manzoor Ahmad, Mr Haq, Tsetan Namgyal, Jagdesh Raj, Mrs, Bimila Luthra and Secretary, JK Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Ramzan. The meeting was convened in the backdrop of the conference of speakers and seminar of CAG held at New Delhi to review the status of the Audit Paras not disposed off so far. The Committee decided to skip all the audit paras up to financial year 2000-2001, in view of the decision taken in the aforesaid conference. It was felt that delay in examining of old Audit Paras was hampering the progress on examining new audit reports. The Committee asked Secretary, Legislative Assembly to pursue the matter with the concerned departments and Autonomous Bodies through their administrative heads and seek action taken reports early so that a final report is submitted to Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) for final decision. Mr. Aslam stressed on early completion of audit paras pertaining to financial year 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
