BJYM protests rehabilitation of surrendered militants
11/23/2010 10:01:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 23: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Mocrha (BJYM) today staged a protest at Kachi Chawni Chowk against the decision of the state cabinet to rehabilitate all those persons who had gone to Pakistan and Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) for receiving arms training.
Hundreds of BJYM activists under the leadership of their State President Munish Sharma shouted slogans against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his decision to rehabilitate those who fought against India and are now staying there after killing security personnel, innocent civilians including women and children in the state.
Addressing the protestors, Munish Sharma said that this decision of the State Cabinet constitutes a humiliating blow to all those youth of the state who are patriots and are without any source of livelihood or employment. By this single act, the Congress-NC coalition government has demonstrated its total lack of empathy for the suffering unemployed youth of the state and its bleeding heart for those who had no qualms to wage war against the security forces and civilians adding that one fails to comprehend the logic and the mind of the NC-Congress ruling combine who have nothing to offer to patriotic youth of the state and yet are ready to squander scarce funds on those who had no loyalty towards secular and democratic India.
Munish Sharma said that the support of the Congress in taking such decision is really unfortunate. The Congress has been exposed and it is now crystal clear that for the sake of power the Congress can go to any extent and compromise even on the matters related to the unity and integrity of the country as also keep mum on such decisions which are against the spirit of constitution and aimed at promoting the cause of separatist and anti-national elements. He warned the state government to withdraw its decision failing which the BJYM activists will intensify their protests. He also asked the Congress leaders in the state to clear their stand on the issue.
Meanwhile, BJP’s district Udhampur unit has also opposed the surrender policy of amnesty for the militants. This was stated in a statement issued jointly by BJP City President Raj Kumar Bucha and BJP Youth Leader Advocate Sunny Mahajan. The BJP leaders said that they fully oppose the surrender policy which was adopted by the state govt yesterday.
