| 7th Edition of Gul Mohar launched | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, NOV 23: Orient Black Swan, one of the most renowned publishing houses in India with branches in all major cities, launched “Gul Mohar-7th Edition” here today.
Gul Mohar Seventh Edition is about English today—the way it is written, spoken, heard, and used for our current needs. From the selection of new texts to the arrangement of grammar topics on the syllabus, from meeting examination requirements to offering fuller and more organized teacher support, this edition of Gul Mohar acknowledges, as always, how essential it is for the course book to partner the teacher responsibly in the classroom processes.
The book launch was followed by a workshop on ‘English language for Life: Effective Teaching’ conducted by M L Tickoo and Champa Tickoo.
About 80 teachers, including principals of many schools from across the region participated in this programme.
During the workshop, M L Tickoo and Champa Tickoo talked in detail about new approaches to teaching of English in today’s classrooms, including the use of games and activities in the classrooms. The workshop was interactive and all participated enthusiastically.
The participating teachers expressed the opinion that more such workshops should be organized in future, as it gave them an opportunity to learn about recent developments in English Language Teaching.
