Sadhotra condemns Mufti’s statement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOV 23: National Conference has taken serious exception to the statement of former Chief Minister and PDP leader, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed where he has alleged that ruling National Conference and Congress were surviving through atrocities. Senior National Conference leader and Spokesman MLC Ajay K Sadhotra said the statement of Mufti is out of sheer frustration as Mufti’s vigorous efforts to dislodge the coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah miserably failed. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the turmoil is fast returning to normal and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah’s sincere efforts to solve the problems of youth by offering a package of 45,000 employment to youth of all the three regions of the state and moreover, effectively implementing Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for the Youth (SKEWPY) has further frustrated the PDP. National Conference leader said it is astonishing that a senior leader of PDP Mufti is leveling such a vague allegation that thousands of youth have been picked up even without acknowledging their arrest. He asked the PDP leader to prove the picking up of thousands of youth or apologize from the people of the state for misleading. Sadhotra said Coalition Government headed by Omar Abdullah is committed to democracy, socialism, civil liberties and human rights. Sadhotra asked the PDP leader to wait till 2015 elections. We are living in a democracy and we shall learn to live without power also. Even out of power we should learn to play constructive role as an opposition party and National Conference shall always respect the constructive role of the opposition. He further asked the PDP not to be so eager.
