Lauding the progress of Indian automative sector, PM Manmohan Singh has said that the country's automative sector has entered a new phase of globalisation.
Singh said this after laying the foundation stone of the National Automotive Testing, Research and Development Infrastructure project at Oragadam in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking on the occasion Singh said the Indian automative sector has enterened the phase of globalistaion and Brand India has begin to make its mark in World.
The Prime Minister said the Automative testing project will push the autombile industry to new frontiers of achievement.
Meanwhile speaking on the occasion Congress President Sonia Gandhi said , India's IT industry has made its mark in the world, Manufacturing sector was core to India's Industrial Development.
Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi has also paid floral tributes to former premier Rajiv Gandhi at the memorial built at the spot where he was assassinated in 1991 in Sriperumbudur.
This is the first visit of Sonia Gandhi to her husband's memorial after the UPA government assumed office two years ago.
Significantly, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M Karunanidhi, who accompanied the Prime Minister and Gandhi, made his maiden visit to the memorial since it was declared opened in 1993.
Rajiv Gandhi fell to a human bomb at the very same spot where he came for an election meeting.
