| School van catches fire at Chhani Jimmat | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 23: A possible tragedy was averted at Chhani Himmat here today after a school van, which was returning after dropping students their homes, caught fire.
Police sources said the van (JK02W/9147) was returning to school in sector 4 of Chhani Himmat after dropping students their homes when its driver Kamal Kumar found smoke emanating from its engine. He dropped the van by the roadside and immediately came out. He brought the matter to the notice of fire station and the school management.
Sources said though a fire tender reached the spot soon after the matter was brought to their notice, the van was almost burnt. Police had registered a case in this connection. |
