Jammu, Nov 23: Tall claim of police is again come under scanner when it shielded a rape accused and put pressure on the girl to withdraw her complaint.
It was barely two months ago when police patted its back claiming that they had arrested two kin of KC groups and Jewel groups who were allegedly involved in beating of a youth in Gandhi Nagar locality , but in case of heinous crime like rape police observe
mum. The reason behind negligence in rape case is crystal clear as in this case police is unable to avail media hype .
In beating case police conducted raids at the residences of the influential personalities at mid night while in rape case no action on the part of police has been taken in spite of repeatedly plea by the rape victim.
Usha daughter of Prem Singh of village Ghartha was kidnapped in presence of her younger brother and later raped by two youth of influential families in a car bearing registration number JK02AG/317. The girl narrated the entire episode with her parents who went to Chouki Chora police station to lodge an FIR in this connection but they received a set back when the concerned SHO in stead of registering case put pressure on the rape victim to withdraw her
complaint. Not only this, the next day he dispatched four cops in her residence who as per directions threatened her family members to say anything about the case to any body.
As per allegations of Uhas" though l was taken to the hospital for medical examination but there SHO told doctors that the girl is telling a lie". If it is the attitude of the police then where soft
sex will go,girl questioned. She further alleged that she told the name of one of the rapist as
Chanchal and write the registration number of the vehicle where the crime took place in her complaint , but dispite of all this police is shielding the accused, the reason behind the shield is stated to be the political pressure on
