11/24/2010 10:19:14 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 24,: Soon after the Bihar verdict was declared and the sitting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was given a clear mandate by the people of Bihar the common man on the streets of Jammu also expressed hope that even their own Chief Minister would take note of the people centric policies introduced by the Bihar CM and ensure better delivery system in the state where working season is defined by the weather and strike calenders.
From common businessman to street vendor, working women to housewives, scholars and students, elderly citizens and sportsmen all sharethe view that politicians can stay in power for as long as they listen to the commoner.
Pointing towards focus of the Nitish Kumar govt on developmental projects the people in Jammu urged the state Chief Minister to spend some time on reviewing pace of developmental projects by visiting the ground zero.
"Sitting in the civil secretariat and reviewing the pace of projects through teleconferencing will not help you to have a real feel of the situation" was the common view point of the cross section of people.
To achieve that you have to keep your fingers on the peoples pulse and apply balm on their wounds, if there are any, to win their hearts and minds.
Industrialists urged the Chief Minister to promote state as perfect investment destination for future growth. If industrialists will invest liberally in the state it will help create employment opportunities for the unemployed youth in the state and help you address the issue of unemployment. The school going children and college graduates should be provided with adequate opportunities for higher studies within the state boundaries and for that we need to have centres of learning which are well groomed, the students said listing out their demands for the chief minister for immediate redressal.
