| Symposium on Tuberculoses held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Nov 24: In order to make the general public aware regarding ill effects of tuberculoses and their remedial measures, District Tuberculoses Officer (DTO) Dr D J Raina organized a symposium at Government Higher Secondary School Tikri today. Principal of the host school was the chief guest on the occasion. The students of Government Higher Secondary School Tikri actively participated in the symposium and expressed their views regarding tuberculoses and Revised National Tuberculoses Control Programme (RNTCP). The students adjudged as first, second and third in the symposium were awarded with cash prizes. Seven students received consolation prizes. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that such programmes should be organized in other rural areas also whereby sensitization regarding TB and RNTCP by the Tuberculoses department so that the rural masses may get the benefits of such programmes at their door steps. The District Tuberculoses also interacted with the students and stressed upon them to spread the message regarding remedial measures in fighting with tuberculoses in their respective areas.
