| Model Academy organises annual sports meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 24: Model Academy celebrated its Annual Sports Day at its B C Road campus.
Around 300 students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in various sports events. Rupa Gupta welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
During the sports meet a number of sports activities were organized. The day started with the athletics events in which the students from classes’ 1st to 6th participated. Inter-house matches followed the athletics meet in which students from the middle and secondary wing participated. Students from Darwin, Einstein, Edison and Newton houses competed against each other in sports such as Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Karate and Tug-of-War etc.
Dr Arun K Gupta Chairman MIER was the chief guest on this occasion. Other dignitaries present were Dr Adit Gupta Joint Director MIER, Rupa Gupta Principal Model Academy R R School, Puneet Basur Principal Model Academy B C Road and Usha Gadoo Vice Principal.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Arun K Gupta Chairman MIER appreciated the students for taking part in various activities and also stressed that participation is more important than winning. He congratulated all the winners in different sports events and motivated them to pursue their sporting careers with dedication so that they could bring laurels for themselves, their state and country.
Puneet Basur presented the Vote of thanks and. Usha Chunni, the sports officer of Model Academy coordinated the entire programme.
