Architectural designs for new legislature complex reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, November 25 – Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Arvinder Singh Mickey today convened a meeting to review the conceptual designs prepared by the three leading architects and design consultants for construction of proposed new Legislature Complex (LC) here. Legislators, M. Y. Taing, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Syeed Asgar Hussain, Bashir Ahmad Magray, T. S. Wazir and Syeed Mohammad Rafiq Shah gave their valuable suggestions in this regard. The meeting was also attended by Commissioner/Secretary, R&B, A. K. Aggarwal, Secretary, Legislative Council, Abdul Rasheed Mir, Managing Director, JKPCC Tahseen Mustafa, Chief Town Planner, Chief Architect and other senior officers of JKPCC and Council Secretariat. Managing Director JKPCC made a power point presentation of the three designs proposed for construction of the Complex. These architectural designs have been conceptualized by three leading architects of the country, including M/S Allied Architects Private Limited, New Delhi, Consulting Engineering Services (I) Private Limited, New Delhi and Prem Nath and Associates, Mumbai. Tehseen also explained that necessary request for constituting of the above technical committee with Chief Architect, Chief Town Planner and other technical experts as Members, has been sent to the Secretary, Law department for issuance of necessary order in this regard. Deputy Chairman instructed the concerned that the designs should accommodate all necessary requirements of respective houses as well as the office chambers of Chairman, Legislative Council, Speaker Legislative Assembly as well as Chief Minister besides other office functionaries for smooth conduct of legislation business.
