| Progress on sewerage projects reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 25- Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar convened a high level meeting to take stock of ongoing Sewerage project works being executed by NBCC in Jammu city.
MLA Jammu East, Ashok Khajuria, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pawan Kotwal, District Magistrate, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, PHE, Dalip Bakshi, Superintendent Engineer, PHE, A. K. Kapoor, XEN PHE, S. C. Nanda, senior officers of UEED, NBCC and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
Stressing on adherence to time frame set for completion of the projects, the Principal Secretary asked the executing agencies to work in tandem with line departments to remove the bottlenecks causing undue delay in these projects. He directed the officers to review the weekly progress of the work besides checking the quality of material used in the construction work. He said that this project after completion would benefit the people of the area.
He said that it is important that all the technical aspects and norms are adhered to and timely steps are taken to plug the loopholes in carrying out these projects effectively.
Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned agencies to speed up the works and stressed on close coordination between the executing agencies and various line departments to avoid undue delays.
Later, the Principal Secretary along with other officers visited the work site and inspected the ongoing works there. He also interacted with the people and assured them that the work would be completed within stipulated time frame. He also directed the executing agencies to lift the malba from the site of works so that people don’t face any problems.
