42 handicapped fitted with artificial limbs. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 25: I n a three day long camp organized by Akhil Bharthiya Marwari Yuva Manch (ABMYM) of Rajasthan in collaboration with Border Roads Organisation of Wives Welfare Association (BROWWA) 42 handicapped persons were fitted with artificial limbs free of cost at Headquarter 52 RCC (GREF) in Batote. These handicapped persons had come from various parts of the state including Kashmir, Gandoh, Doda, Chenani, Jammu, Kisthwar and Ramban District. While addressing the audience the national convener ABMYM, MN Agarwal informed that with the collaboration of Border Roads Organization (BRO) has so far successfully conducted two such camps including this one in which about 190 handicapped persons have been fitted with artificial limbs so far including a camp held in Srinagar in October this year in which 150 handicapped persons were benefited. He said that ABMYM has 628 branches in India which are run by about 40,000 youths of this NGO who have so far benefited more than 4 lakh handicapped persons in India since 1985. He said that the material used in the artificial limbs, High Density Ployethene Pipe (HDPP) was invented by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and is the most light and best suitable material in the world. Maj Gen AK Chaturvedi was the chief guest on the occasion lauded the service of ABMYM.
