| Daily Wagers of various departments stage protest | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 25:The daily wagers of various State Government departments staged protest dharna in front of the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu
The daily wagers of PDD, PHE, Agriculture, Forest, Education, Floriculture, PWD (R&B), Mechanical, Irrigation and Flood Control under Jammu and Kashmir Daily Wagers Joint Action Forum participated against the delay policy of the State Government for their regularization.
Gurnam Singh, provincial president of the forum said, “Thousands of the posts lying vacant in all the departments which needed to be filled forthwith. We appeal Chief Minister to personally intervene and regularized the daily wagers of various Government departments to fill the vacant posts”.
He mentioned that nearly 25000 to 30000 daily wagers in various Government departments who have been completed seven years and have full experience for working in the departments.
The forum leaders appealed to all the MLAs to put pressure on the Government to frame regularization policy besides they appealed Centre as well as State Government to announce a package for regularization of daily wagers. Later, they submitted memorandum to Divisional Commissioner Jammu in support of their demands.
Among others who participated in the protest dharna were Raj Kumar, Surjeet Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Rajan Sharma, Deedar Singh, Karan Sing and others.
