JMC demolishes unauthorized construction | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 25: The Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Police Force from Narwal Police Post demolished an unauthorized construction at Narwal, Jammu. The structure, which was demolished on the instructions of Commissioner JMC S.C. Sawhney, belonged to one Dharmpal Sharma, who was raising the construction unauthorizedly without seeking the building permission. The team led by Satish Khajuria Chief Enforcement Officer also conducted the drive to clear footpaths / pavements and seized the goods / articles like weighing scales, juice machines, tarpaulin (tarpal) Sheets, benches, fruits cases etc. kept by shopkeepers / vendors by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements at Jewel and Canal Road area. The Jammu Municipal Corporation once again appealed to the General Public to seek the proper Building Permission before raising any construction work to avoid action which may lead to demolition of unauthorized / illegal constructions. The staff has been directed to be more vigilant and ensure that no unauthorized construction / encroachment take place in their respective areas of jurisdiction. Besides this, the Municipal Veterinary Officer along with field staff continued the drive to check the menace of stray animals and visited the areas of Rehari, Panjtirthi, Circular Road, Janipur, Jewel, Talab Tillo, Narwal, Gandhi Nagar, Railway Road, Channi, Trikuta Nagar, Digiana, Gangyal etc and lifted 26 stray animals from these areas. The stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound. The team had also visited areas of Kunjwani, Narwal, Satwari, Gangyal etc and fined the defaulters who selling the unstamped meat besides seizing polythene carry bags from these areas. A total of Rs. 7510 has been charged as fine from the different defaulters. |
