DGP sanctions meritorious scholarships for police personnel wards

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 25: Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today sanctioned scholarships in favour of meritorious wards of police personnel for the academic year 2009-2010.
While issuing the orders, the DGP has said that over Rs 2.42 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of 59 wards of police personnel which include 46 wards of serving police personnel and 13 wards of deceased police personnel. The meritorious scholarships have been sanctioned in favour of those children who have secured highest percentage in class 10th, 12th and graduation.. The objective of granting scholarships is to boost the talent among the children so that they could compete in different educational streams in future, he added.
On the occasion, Khoda stressed upon the parents and guardians to make best use of these scholarships for the future studies of the children. He said that scholarships are being sanctioned in favour of the meritorious students out of Central Police Welfare Fund, who secure distinction in different annual examinations. He said that police organization, besides other measures, has started so many schemes under its welfare programme for the welfare of serving police personnel and the families of deceased police personnel.

The scholarships sanctioned among the meritorious children, include Sharjeel Ashraf Wani, Deepali Doley Barman, Diksha Dhar, Sabreena Bashir, Nivea Reddy, Samah Mushtaq, Amair Majid, Mohit Kumar Hans, Purnima Koul, Shikha Bhat, Ulfat Shah, Saadiya Elyas, Somesh Singh, Bhanu Priya, Priya Koul, Diksha, Nahida Shafi, Ravneet Kour, Sonika Katoch, Gul Sonober, Sahil Dutta, Farhat Azad, Pankaj Spolia, Rashu Sharma, Nirmal Singh, Adarsh Saini, Jagdeep Singh, Ramani, Anuj Khajuria, Madhu Bala, Monika, Manpreet Kour, Deepak Sharma, Azhar Majid, Javed Shabir, Wasim Farooq, Rajat Pandit, Younic Mushtar, Vishal Pandita, Sonali Bandral, Rozwan Ahmed and Sahil Sharma.
The scholarships sanctioned among the wards of deceased police personnel include Ishfat Ahmad Shah, Safeena Akhter, Janib-ul-Islam, Romi Farooq, Shaista Farooq, Arunjeet Singh, Sarabjit Kour, Sumanjit Kour, Raisabba Farooq, Zahid Rasool, Tahir Zahoor, Rifat Naz and Mehnaz Zahoor.
