| Drunken man murders wife at Majalta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Nov 25: An inebriated man allegedly murdered his wife with a sharp-edged weapon at their residence at Pathwar in Majalta here today. Police sources said Rashpal Singh often beat up his wife Kailasho Devi under the influence of liquor.
He was drunk today too when he attacked Kailasho with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in her death, the sources added, saying the gory incident was preceded by heated exchanges between them.
The victim had a deep stab wound in the head. After the matter was brought to their notice, police had rushed to the spot and evacuated the body to hospital where post-mortem was conducted on it. The body was later handed over to her parents for last rites. Police had registered a murder case against Rashpal, who was absconding.
Sources said minutes before her murder, Kailasho had called up her mother Geeta Devi and apprised her of her torture by Rashpal.The victim's family members and relatives held a protest in the village, demanding immediate arrest of the accused. |
