26/11 martyrs remembered on 2nd anniversary

JAMMU, Nov 26: Like other parts of the country, Jammu too remembered the martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack on 2nd anniversary.
Observing two minutes silence and then standing in a bee-line with lighted candles in their hands outside the Pradesh Youth Congress headquarters, Shahidi Chowk, PYC led activists led by R S Pathania, senior Vice-President, observed the second anniversary of the terrorist attack in Mumbai and paid heart-felt homage to the victims of the carnage. The function marked a rare display of cathartic outburst of patriotic adrenaline and all the Youth Congress activists present took a resolve to stand like a rock against the divisive forces in the country.

R S Pathania while addressing the Youth Congress activists and the people having assembled over there called upon the youth to stand firm against the scourge of terrorism. Their vast energy and vibrant potentials should not remain unutilized in the process of nation-building. Rather they should strive for creating an equitable social order where there is security of life and limb of very human being. By condemning terrorism from the soil of J & K, we seek to transcend a signal that youth of J & k is against terrorism and is ready to fight against it at any cost.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association organized a ‘Shardanjali’ programme at ‘Shaheedi Yadgar Sithal’ to pay tributes to those who were martyr in this terror attack.

Former Chief Secretary and MLC B R Kundal was the chief guest of the occasion while association’s president Ved Gandotra, senior vice president Ajit Singh Adyal, general secretary, M R Bangotra

B R Kundal, while paying tributes to martyrs expressed his grief and regretted about the lack of progress in the trial of seven Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists due to non-cooperation of Pakistan. He appreciated the role of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for building the International pressure on Pakistan for early trial.

Ved Gandotra, Ajit Singh Adyal, M R Bangotra, Ram Dogra, Rajesh Vittu, amrit Sagar, Kuldeep Sharma, Yash Sangral, Sikhvinder Singh, Gajan Singh, Pritam Sharma, K L Dubey, Capt Parshotam Sharma, Shambu Nath Khajuria also paid tribute to martyrs.
