Hue and cry over Giri's encounter as spot is devoid of splattered blood, blood stains | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 26: The encounter killing of Giri has raised hue and cry across the winter capital as the spot, where he was said to have fallen prey to police bullets near Satyam Resorts Sunday last, is devoid of splattered blood and blood stains. There is a general feeling that he was killed in a staged encounter. Though there is no concrete evidence as regards his alleged fake encounter, police urgently require a protection against all this hue and cry. Police termed Giri as a contract killer and said he was killed in retaliatory fire. Giri's father, however, denied police claim that his son killed people in lieu of money and said he did not deserve to be killed in the alleged staged encounter. "Does police have the right to kill alleged criminals?" he asked, saying courts ought to take suo moto notice of such encounters and alleged police brutality. In the photographs of the encounter site, cops could be seen encircling the spot where Giri was stated to have been killed in exchange of fire. In these circles, blood stains are visible nowhere. After his killing, Giri could have fallen on the road and remained there for a minute, or so before being shifted to hospital. Much of human blood flows out of the bullet wound in one minute. Surprisingly, there was no blood splattered anywhere at the encounter site. Also, when the injured is dragged to vehicle to shift him to hospital, blood oozes from the wound and falls on the ground. In this case, however, no blood drops were found anywhere at the spot. Giri's accomplice was also wounded in the shootout. Only in one photograph where a Sikh police officer is seen examining the spot, one could see a small amount of blood. A fired cartridge is also shown lying in one of the circles. Forensic experts had picked up samples from the spot for their examination. Jail authorities have already denied the district police claim that Giri was lodged in central jail at Kote-Bhalwal where he and Nagar Singh alias Nago had hatched a conspiracy to eliminate witnesses in Amandeep murder case. It now needs to be seen which way the investigation of forensic experts leads. If it did not match the police version of the story, police would be left with nothing for their defence. Giri's financial health was very poor. His father said had he been a contract killer as alleged by police, he would have first of all tried to make their living conditions better. He said police should have no objection in handing over the case to CBI if the encounter killing was genuine. |
