| SDP leader pay homage to martys | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Nov27: Socialistic Democratic Party led by its president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today paid homage to martyrs at the Mahayagya Sthal on the banks of river Tawi in Jammu .
This event was the first of its kind when a political party organised a function for paying homage to the great Indian soldiers and other civilians who achieved martyrdom while fighting for the country.
Amid a huge gathering of public, prominent SDP leaders including the Vice President Abhay Singh Wazir, General Secretary Ajay Kumar, Youth President Sardar Gursagar Singh, party leaders Peer Abdul Majeed Shah, Sanjay Manhas, Ajay Raina, Surinder, Mohan Lal were also present.
Flower wreaths were laid on the portraits and memorial of the Shaheed soldiers and diyas were lit in their eternal memory which was followed by a special prayer session for the eternal peace of the departed souls.
On the occasion, paying rich tributes to the Kargil martyrs, SDP president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that every member of SDP was a soldier without uniform ready to sacrifice everything for the dignity of the tri-colour.
Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said when the politicians and bureaucrats are busy in looting the country these great souls lay down their lives for people and the nation.
Digging hard at the politicians who for petty political interests even challenge the integrity and integration of the nation will have to be fought back and the patriotic population of the country can only do so by rejecting them outrightly. She appealed to the educated youth of the state to come forward and replace these anti-nationals and pseudo-nationals in politics so that we in real sense are able to pay regards to these great martyrs.
