| Inter-college competitions of JU | | Commerce, Science College win in volleyball | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: Government SPMR College of Commerce and GGM Science College among four teams today moved into the next round of quarterfinals in the ongoing inter-college men’s volleyball tournament of University of Jammu, organised by Government Degree College here today.
In the pre-quarterfinals played today, Commerce College defeated Government Degree College Kathua 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13). On the other hand, GGM Science College trounced Government Degree College Thanamandi in straight sets of 25-20, 25-11, 25-15 to advance into the next round.
In another pre-quarterfinal match, PG Departments registered a straight set win over New Age Degree College 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.
Government Degree College Ramnagar also won their match played against Government GL Degree College Hiranagar 2-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-21).
Earlier, in a preliminary round match, New Age Degree College won against Dogra Law College beating latter 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 15-25, 25-22).
Today’s matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Sharma, Naveen Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Ajit Singh, Manik Nargotra and Amit Sharma.
FIXTURE: (Quarterfinals): GDC Udhampur to face GDC Bani; GDC Bhaderwah shall lock horns against MAM College; SPMR College of Commerce shall be playing against GGM Science College; PG Department shall take on GDC Ramnagar.
