BJP mocks coalition attempt to rehabilitate militants
11/27/2010 9:03:21 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday mocked at the ruling leadership for approving rehabilitation policy for youth who have crossed Line of Control to Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK) and Pakistan for arms training.
“What can be more ridiculous than that the ruling leaders are quite eager for rehabilitation of those who are still in Pakistan and had gone there to receive trainings and bring weapons for armed militancy to break India but this dispensation has little to think about the future and rehabilitation of the dependents of those Village Defence Committee members and SPOs who were killed while fighting against cross border terror at various places,” senior BJP leader, Chaman Lal Gupta said.
Gupta was addressing a function to commemorate the ‘Kotli-Mirpur’ Day when the “Pakistani invaders” in 1947 had run over these areas and thousands men, women and children were “massacred”.
Over the accession remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Gupta said it was quite intriguing that though the accession of the State with Indian Union was finalized on October 26, when the Maharaja by using his legal authority had signed the Instrument of Accession and the Indian troops had landed at Srinagar very next day, such statements are being made to misguide the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Legally and constitutionally Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India but it was highly deplorable that no less a person than even the Chief Minister after such a long time is describing the Accession issue as dispute,” he said.
At the function rich tributes were paid to those who put up a stiff resistance to the “Pakistani invaders” and “sacrificed” their lives.
