| NYK organizes sports meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Nov 27: Nehru Yuva Kendra Kathua organized a sports meet in collaboration with district youth services and sports department under the Panchyat Yuva Krida Khel Abhyan (PYKKA).
Various sports discipline like Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, weight lifting, wrestling, and various track and field events were held during the two days meet.
In volleyball girls of GHS Marheen were winners and Government HSS Jakhbar were runner up.
In table tennis boys section spring dales school beat little angel’s school kathua clinched the title. In 100metere boys final Karambeer Singh, of St. Xavier School Kathua got first position, Gagandeep Singh also of St. Xavier School stood second and Mohd. Shafi of Government HSS Boys’ Kathua got third position.
In the girls section, Sony Saini of GHS Marheen School first while Manjot Kour of KV kathua stood second.
Chief Education officer Kathua, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta was the chief guest in the closing ceremony. He distributed prizes among the winners and runners.
Speaking on the occasion, he exhorted the youth to take part in games with full zeal and enthusiasm. The chief guest also appreciated the role of Nehru Yuva Kendra in organizing such function.
