West Pak refuges call on Mangat

Jammu Nov 27: A deputation of West Pakistan refugees led by Baldev Raj Tak, president, West Pakistan Refugees association called on former Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma and former MP Janak Raj Gupta and apprised their long pending demands.
According to the handout, on the request of the deputation Mangat Ram Sharma has approached the ministry of home affairs, Govt. of India to pay compensation of Rs 30 lakh to each family of West Pakistan Refugees in Jammu, since 1947.
The refugees deputation rued that even after 60 years, they were fighting for their settlement in the state. They said that even they were not entitled to cast votes in the state assembly. The refugees deputation complained that refugees from Pakistan settled in other states have been duly rehabilitated.
